Welcome to Christ Church
We are a Church of England congregation in the heart of Wesham, Lancashire, on a mission to grow together—people of all ages and stages of life—to become more like Jesus, and to faithfully serve our town while sharing the good news of His love.
Welcome from
Rev Jono Peatman
Hi, my name is Jono and I lead Christ Church, I’m so glad you’re here! Along with my wife Amy, and our children Ava and Noah, we moved to Wesham in June 2025 from Blackpool, where I completed my ordination training through Emmanuel College and placed at Blackpool Church St Johns. As a family, we have always lived in the North West and we strongly believe God has such exciting things in store for this community.
As a family, when we’re not at church, you’ll usually find us spending time at the beach, or enjoying some good food together (usually followed by a singalong Disney film!)
The thing I am most passionate about is creating spaces for people of all ages, from the youngest right up to the oldest, to profoundly experience the love and compassion of God.
Prior to training for ordained ministry, I have worked in Christian schoolwork, I have worked as a debt centre manager for Christians against poverty and I was the sung worship pastor at St Thomas in Lancaster, where I also wrote and recorded a number of worship songs.
If you are not yet part of a church, or would like to explore getting involved with us at Christ Church, I’d love to hear from you.

Children at Christ Church
We LOVE the life and vibrancy that children bring to every area of our church life! A key way of us being able to include and involve children fully, and for them to access everything on offer, is to fill in our consent form. This ensures we have all of the information we need to register them for groups and events, and top keep them safe.
Please click the button below to head over to the form
Our youthgroup for school years 6-9 meet on the first Sunday of each month, after our 4pm service (5.30-7pm). There’s always food, milkshakes, games and opportunity to explore the Christian Faith.
If you’ve never been before, we would love to see you! Our consent form is attached below, we require a parent or guardian to complete it.

Safeguarding
Safeguarding is a top priority for us, and we are committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Blackburn’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
